The aim of the IVN Natural Leather Label is to make the production of leather goods more ecological, socially acceptable and healthy. The label therefore sets requirements above all in the areas of environmental pollution, hazardous substances, disposal and recyclability of the leather, health and fair working conditions. The label covers all stages of production from the raw material to the sale and use of the finished leather (but not the processed leather product).
The International Association of the Natural Textile Industry e. V. (IVN) awards the label. The members of the IVN come from trade, industry and commerce and have set themselves the task of making the production and use of leather goods more sustainable.
The IVN also awards the IVN certified BEST label for sustainable textiles.
