OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
The label aims to reduce harmful substances. If a textile article has been awarded the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® label, all components of this article, i.e. including all threads, buttons and other accessories, have been tested for harmful substances so that the article is harmless to health. Proof of this is provided by testing the end products for harmful chemicals. OEKO-TEX® consist of 18 independent research and test institutes in Europe and Japan. They are responsible for the joint development of test methods and limit values which form the basis for the certifications. The OekoTex Standard is for various textile products to ensure that the chemicals used throughout the production process are not harmful or dangerous to human health. The scope of the human ecological requirements is based on the intended use of the textile. In principle, the more intensively a textile comes into contact with the skin, the stricter the limit values it must fulfil.
