Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product, Version 4.1 (Silver Level) - Textiles
Aim/Focus: Cradle to Cradle Certified® is a multi-attribute standard used globally across industries by designers, brands and manufacturers for designing and making products that enable a healthy, equitable and sustainable future. Cradle to Cradle certified products are made of material safe to the environment and to human health and that can be reused, recycled or composted. Thus, the standard focusses on chemical use, recyclability, energy, water and social justice. Standard organisation: The Cradle to Cradle standard is developed by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, a non-profit organization. Its vision is a waste-free economy where all material used in a product is either recycled or bio-degradable. Cradle to Cradle certified products are made of material safe to the environment and to human health and that can be reused, recycled or composted. Thus, the standard focusses on chemical use, recyclability, energy, water and social justice. Good to know: The Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program is based on the concept of continuous improvement and, thus, there are four possible levels of achievement within each of the standard’s five key requirement categories: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. To reach a desired achievement level within each category, the product must meet all of the requirements for that level, in addition to the requirements at all lower levels.
