- Siegelklarheit assesses sustainability labels.
- In the label directory, you can find labels for different product groups, along with information about other marks/logos used on products.
- Siegelklarheit is an initiative of the Verbraucherzentrale NRW (Consumer Association of North Rhine-Westphalia), supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Siegelklarheit shows how credible and rigorous sustainability labels are
More than 230 sustainability labels are on the market. How is anyone supposed to keep track?
Siegelklarheit assesses the credibility and sustainability of existing labels.
The label directory shows at a glance how rigorous sustainability labels are. Ratings range from poor to excellent. A diamond symbol identifies labels that are not only rated as excellent, but also meet particularly high environmental and social standards. They stand for a particularly comprehensive approach to sustainability by placing strong emphasis on both protecting the environment and climate and ensuring fair conditions for people throughout the supply chain.
In addition to detailed assessments of sustainability labels, the label directory also includes other marks/logos used on products, together with background information about them.

Missing a label?
There can be several reasons:
- It does not belong to one of the listed product groups.
- The label cannot be found on consumer products.
- The label has not provided data for assessment on Siegelklarheit.
New labels are added continuously, and additional product groups (e.g., food) are being included
