The aim of the bluesign® PRODUCT label is to reduce the impact on people and the environment. Consumer protection, best possible environmental performance in the production of textile chemicals and textiles, as well as worker protection and optimal resource efficiency are the focus of the label. Only responsibly produced materials (such as textiles and accessories) and chemicals may be used in the production and processing of a bluesign® PRODUCT.
The label owner is bluesign technologies ag headquartered in Switzerland. The company was founded in 2000 by textile and chemical experts. Today, as a member of the SGS-Group, BLUESIGN is a global acting company with 80 employees and hubs in Europe, America and Asia.
A bluesign® PRODUCT is only offered by brands that have committed to the bluesign® SYSTEM. Such a sustainable product consists of at least 90 % bluesign® APPROVED textiles and 30 % bluesign® APPROVED accessory materials such as buttons, cords or zips. The goal is to achieve 100% of bluesign® APPROVED components. The overall product guarantees the highest level of safety for consumers.
