The Demeter label aims to promote and disseminate the biodynamic method of farming on farms. This goes back to Rudolf Steiner, the founder of anthroposophy. It sees a farm as an organism that has its own characteristics.
Demeter e.V. is a German organic farming association. It protects the registered Demeter trademarks on behalf of the Forschungsring für Biologisch-Dynamische Wirtschaftsweise e. V. (Research Association for Biodynamic Farming).
Producers who implement the Demeter requirements and are members of Demeter are allowed to label their products with the label. The Demeter label can be found on meat and dairy products, fruit, vegetables, spices and cosmetic products.
