EPEAT - Mobile Phones

The EPEAT label recognises mobile phones that cause less environmental impact than conventional products. For example, the devices consume less electricity during use and have a longer service life. EPEAT has three different labels: EPEAT Bronze, EPEAT Silver and EPEAT Gold.
The EPEAT environmental label for IT is awarded by the Green Electronics Council. The headquarters of the non-profit organisation is in the USA.
The standard documents containing the requirements are subject to a fee. Therefore, the label cannot be compared with environmental and social standards that are freely available.

Extraction of various raw materials such as noble metals (e.g. gold, silver)

Manufacturing

Production of many individual components as well as final assembly of the device

The transport route from one production stage to the next as well as to the end consumer
