The seal is intended to express high product quality as well as safety and harmlessness to health. Verifications of this are emission and pollutant tests of the end products. The seal identifies mattresses and pillows made from renewable raw materials such as natural latex as well as plant-based and animal fibers. The cotton upholstery fabrics come from controlled organic cultivation.
The “Qualitätsverband umweltverträgliche Latexmatratzen e.V.“ awards the seal as a registered association.
The standard focuses on the chemical testing of products made from natural latex that are as free of harmful substances as possible. The chemical analysis takes place annually. In addition, the loss of suspension and durability are checked every three years.

Which lifecycle phases are covered by the standard?

Transportation / distribution

The transport route from one production stage to the next as well as to the end consumer

Products use and consumption

Usage through the owner

End-of-life

Proper disposal of textiles or return of materials to the cycle (recycling)
