With its quality label, SGS Institut Fresenius pursues a strict and holistic quality approach. This covers the entire creation of the product - from the extraction of the raw materials to the company principles and working conditions to the actual quality. After the label has been awarded, further quality controls are carried out at regular intervals.
The label is provided by SGS Institut Fresenius GmbH. It is a subsidiary of the Swiss SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance) SA.
The label is primarily found on food products. The quality checks are adapted for each product. The supplementary testing programme "Social and Ecological Sustainability" comprises 97 criteria and can be found as a supplement next to the label on products. Individual important criteria are mandatory criteria that must be met 100%. Each topic area (e.g. occupational safety or energy and resource management) must be fulfilled at least 80%.
